The Maritime Safety Division of the Hellenic Navy Hydrographic Service, participated in the IHO - World Wide Navigation Warning Service 8 (WWNWS 8) Sub committee which took place at Alesund of Norway from 12 to 16 September 2016.
There were representatives from 22 countries and 6 International Organizations. During the Sub committee, issues relating to the Promulgation of Maritime Safety Information (MSI), capacity building, training course of the Hydrographic Services personnel, and modernization of the GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) were discussed.
