Safety of Navigation Division
The mission of the division is:
- Issue of Notices to Mariners for the updating of the charts and the other nautical publications.
- Issue and promulgation of Radio Navigational Warnings
- Issue of NAVTEX bulletins in collaboration with the Hellenic Mercantile Marine, National Meteorological Service and the Hellenic Organization of Telecommunications.
- Designation of channels, safety anchorages, restricted areas, dangers to navigation as well as the way of their marking.
- Maritime study on the installation of lights, lighted or not lighted buoys, landmarks, mooring buoys and navigational radio-aids.
